Ugh. University rant!
Oct. 9th, 2003 12:51 pmWhy are the lecturers at my University so incompetent? There are at least 80 people on the exact same course as me and my lecturer decides to put two books on our reading list for our first lecture, of which there are a grand total of 6 copies! The first book has one copy, and one copy alone of the book. Fair enough, we've been told that there are 6 more copies on order, but when will they get here? Most likely at the end of term, when no one has the need for them anymore.
So of course, with there only being one copy of the first book everyone has gone for the second book on the list, and there's only five copies of that. It really sucks, ecause how the hell am I supposed to read these books if I can't actually get one?
Having experienced this dilemma this week, I decided to look up the books for the next two weeks, one of which is the same book from the first week of which all of the copies have been taken, the other only has a few copies as well that have been snatched up already.
I'm so pissed off at the inadequacy of this library, and more so at the inaqeduacy of my lecturer how never thought to see that this didn't happen before the course started.
Grrr!
